Above Odyssey, below Iliad

I would rank this above The Odyssey but below The Iliad. It contained a bit of both of those – an adventurous travel saga in the first half like The Odyssey, and a big war epic in the last half like The Iliad. But I thought the Iliad had more emotional pull, and Homer's similes can't be beat.

I read the hard copy of the Robert Fagles translation while listening to the Scott McGill/Susannah Wright translation on audio, and I actually think I liked Fagles better. Interesting to see how different the various translations can be.
