Cringy rom-com, boring mystery

I am so sorry to Tiffany Crum, but this book just did not do it for me. It was more rom-com than mystery, and I thought the rom-com part was cringy to get through. Benny and Joy have that grown-child-type dialogue that appears often in modern romance for some reason, and I do not find it charming at all. Their friendship situation made no sense. I was bored by the plot. The conclusion was pretty far-fetched. The dumb cop stereotype was aggravating (it’s 2026, you’re telling me that a police officer would be in open disbelief that someone could make a living from a podcast?)
It wasn’t terrible to read, but it didn’t bring anything special to the table, and I imagine it will quickly be lost and forgotten in the vast sea of mediocre suspense and romance novels published each week.
